A Mini Collection of Three Artworks that are Fun and Playful
Just before Christmas, a friend and I went on a detox weekend to the south coast of NSW. We didn't have a list of things to do, other than eat good food, have a swim in the ocean and do some forest bathing.
The weekend was spent amongst long chats, talking about our dreams and how we want to feel in 2024. It was a refreshing and nourishing weekend, and I felt energised and ready to tackle what was left of 2023.
I usually would have driven back, but the rest of the family had taken the car. I was so glad for this, as I would be travelling back to Bathurst by train, which I hadn't done in ages!
That train trip was many hours long and I decided I would just look out the window. "Do not read, do not use the phone." Those two were my rules.
And...an idea started pouring in. The thought of a mini series of lemons with very contrasting colours; a fun palette, with a vibrant yellow and a pink outline.
I was so lucky to be able to take some time before Christmas to refine my ideas, come up with a colour theme and put it all down on canvas. Because I knew the type of yellow and pink I wanted, I played around with mixing colours to get the exact combination I was after.
I know I'm biased but I ab-so-lu-te-ly love these lemons!!!
They are vibrant, and fun and super cute!

It’s such a gift when you can escape life and the world - taking time for ourselves outside the day to day routine.
This body of work is a reminder to connect with what gives us joy and to make time to have fun!!
I hope this cheerful energy fills each home they are brought into.
These paintings will be available on Wednesday 24 January at 8:00pm AEDT, so mark your calendars!
